The Fascinating Legends and Myths Surrounding Red Rose

Ancient Greek Mythology: In Greek mythology, roses were associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love. According to one myth, the rose was created from the tears of Aphrodite as she mourned the death of her lover, Adonis.  

Roman Mythology: Romans also linked roses to their goddess of love, Venus (equivalent to Aphrodite). Legend has it that a rose bush grew from the ground where Venus's tears fell upon hearing about the death of her beloved Adonis.  

Christian Symbolism: In Christian tradition, the red rose became associated with martyrdom and the blood of Christ. It symbolizes the sacrifice of Jesus and is sometimes referred to as the "mystical rose" or the "rose of Sharon." 

Medieval European Legends: During the Middle Ages, red roses were associated with the Knights Templar and the Rosicrucians, mystical orders that imbued roses with esoteric symbolism.
